the fierce, rude hero

Ryu-Sang is a rude but talented swordsman. He is one of the main protagonists in the manhwa.

Before Lady Seong Howori (the orphan's Sabu-Nim - teacher in Korean) took him in, he lived in the Markets. He refused to live in the temple and avoided Sabu-Nim for a year. He believed that Sabu-Nim was going to sell him. 'You are selling cute boys to some old men for money, right?! Stop following me you old grandma!'. Living in the temple, her learned swordsmanship and becomes one of the most talented in the temple. Like many of the children at the temple, he regards it as his home.

During the attack of the temple, Ryu-Sang stays back and tries to save the children, telling Myo-Un, Aru and Jerc-Young to take an airship if he doesn't come back in a week. He manages to catch up with the group after one day despite being badly wounded.

Like I stated before, Ryu-Sang is one of the more talented swordsman in the temple. He has extremely sensitive hearing, which aids the group if there was ever an ambush.

I believe his rudeness stems from his insecurities of his blue eyes (which mean he is interacial or mix). On his first day at the temple, he got into fights with the other children, most likely to prove his worth. He is extremely sensitive about his eyes. He can also be arrogrant but it is just a pretense.

Despite his gruff and harsh nature, he truly cares about his friends and will to anything to protect them - even at the risk of his life. He dislikes Myo-Un due to an unknown event in the past, where Myo-Un says something that she shouldn't have said. However, he can put aside their differences when they are in trouble. In Volume 5, he tells her that 'we were never meant to be together.'

Slowly, as the plot develops, it seems that Ryu-Sang has a talent. Lady Syo-Ru, a fortune-teller and the main protagonist of the plot is able to see into the future by travelling along the time lines and viewing the events. One day, she will be lost in the timelines where no one can see and find her - except for Ryu-Sang. Due to this, he is held a prisoner at the manor, with the Lord Soun Suk Myeong (Lady Syo-Ru's father) using Myo-Un as a hostage.
